2012-2013 Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

2012 FANTASY BASKETBALL SLEEPERS by Al OHarra

F/C Tristan Thompson, Cleveland Cavs, 21 Years Old
Thompson began the season at 20 years old for the majority of the 2011-12 season. He had a few big games, but was up and down in minutes and stats all season. With a full year under his belt, and with Antawn Jamison signing with the Lakers, Tristan will start at Power Forward and the minutes issue will go away. We see plenty of stats for Thompson. Start looking for him in round 9.

G/F MarShon Brooks, Brooklyn Nets, 23 Years Old
The Nets go into the season with a strong starting five of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries and Brook Lopez. But their team depth and bench is not good at all. Going into his 2nd season, MarShon is the best player the Nets have coming off of the bench and should find himself getting 6th man 30 minutes per game giving Wallace and Johnson a rest. Start looking for him in round 12.

F Jason Thompson, Sacramento Kings, 26 Years Old
Thompson is scheduled to be starting Power Forward in a crowded Kings backfield. He will put up strong blocks and 15 plus points as a starter. Look for him in round 13.

G Jerryd Bayless, Memphi Grizzlies, 24 Years Old
Bayless will take on the 6th man role for Memphis. If he performs well, he will likely push Tony Allen for minutes and the starting role. Last year with the Raptors he averaged 22.7 minutes and 11.4 points per game shooting a dismal 42.4 FG%. His other numbers are unspectacular but he has the ability to show growth and can be expected to put in over 30 minutes per game with the Grizzlies. Start looking for him in round 14.

F Hedo Turkoglu, Orlando Magic, 33 Years Old
Turkoglu has been an overall disappointment in recent years. But he has a starting job in Orlando, and at 33 years old most likely a last chance to show that he has the talent and the inclination to put up the numbers of a top flight forward. He has become a very late rounder making him worth a flyer. Start looking for him in round 15.
