Double Play Fantasy Baseball League Rules

The Biggest Payout in Fantasy Baseball  &  No Transaction Fees

DOUBLE PLAY INTRODUCTION: Double Play Fantasy Baseball uses the same rules as FSRU's standard Rotisserie Baseball. Except each seasons MLB schedule is broken into two separate fantasy baseball seasons. This is roto baseball at its most intense. The first season begins at the MLB season start and ends at the All Start Break. Then the standings are completely wiped clean. The second season begins after the All Star Break and ends at the MLB season end. Over the two seasons in each year, each league will have 10 prize-winners and award four plaques.

FANTASY BASEBALL DRAFT: All Fantasy Sports "R" Us drafts are held in our personal chat room. A few days prior to your draft you will receive an email with your draft position. The draft order then reverses each round (1-14, 14-1). In keeper leagues, beginning in year two, the draft will be non-serpentine according to the previous years standings (i.e. 14-1, 14-1).

FSRU.com has REAL KEEPER LEAGUES!!! Team owners protect 14 players and a 13 round draft is held yearly. Many of our competitors that advertise keeper leagues actually run what's known as Dynasty Leagues. All teams start the year with the same roster they ended the previous year with. Dynasty is a fitting name since the same teams tend to win those leagues year after year. While more work for the site, Real Keeper Leagues provides a far more competitive, stable and enjoyable experience for our team owners.

KEEPER LEAGUE REDRAFT: Beginning in 2008, every 5th year a keeper league will completely redraft. Redrafts will be serpentine (1-14, 14-1, 1-14, etc). There will be no keepers in a redraft year as all players are available.

Previous years standings will dictate draft order in redraft years. Previous 5 years league champions will receive priority positioning from oldest to youngest. Remaining positions will be issued last team to first team as of 5th years final standings. An example draft order in a 2008 Redraft would be:
1. 2003 Champion
2. 2004 Champion
3. 2005 Champion
4. 2006 Champion
5. 2007 Champion
Remaining positions are issued last to first except for the top 5 listed above utilizing the last years standings. Teams leaving leagues in redraft year are barred from attaining a higher draft position by entering a new league.

If you are considering purchasing a Team for Sale, each established leagues redraft year is available on the League Winners page. We believe drafting a team from scratch is an integral part of the fantasy baseball experience. There is a $50 cancellation fee for orphaning a team. In a league redraft year, this fee is waived.

KEEPER LEAGUE OFFSEASON: Keeper League team owners protect 14 players yearly. You must cut down your team to 14 and pay for your team on or before February 20th. A 13 round supplemental draft is then held in March. The annual supplemental draft is non-sequential according to the previous years standings (14-1, 14-1, etc.)

Once the Major League Baseball season ends, if your team is paid for the following season, you can trade with other teams paid for the next season throughout the off-season. Each leagues supplemental draft date will be posted on the FSRU.com Draft Dates Page by November 1st, please schedule accordingly.

DOUBLE PLAY FANTASY BASEBALL TEAMS: Double Play Mixed (AL/NL) leagues will have 14 teams. Each team will each have 27 players (22 active per week): 1-catcher; 1-1B; 1-Corner Infield (1B or 3B); 1-3B; 1-2B; 1-Middle Infield (2B or SS); 1-SS; 5-OF; 1-Utility (Any Offensive Player); 9-Pitchers; 5-Reserve (Offense or Pitching).

HOW TO WIN at ROTISSERIE BASEBALL:
There are five hitting and five pitching categories (5x5 Leagues).
The five hitting categories are:
Batting Average (BA)
Home Runs (HR)
Runs Batted In (RBI)
Stolen Bases (SB)
Runs Scored (R)
The five pitching categories are:
Wins (W)
Saves (S)
Earned Run Average (ERA)
Ratio (Walks + Hits / Innings Pitched)
Strikeouts (S)

Pitchers will not accumulate hitting statistics. Points are awarded in each of the 10 categories based on your standings compared to the other league teams, for example, from 1 to 14 in a mixed league. Your total points then rank you in comparison to the other teams.

FANTASY BASEBALL POSITION QUALIFICATION: A player must play at a position 10x the previous year or 5x the current year to qualify at a position. TQstats issues new MLB players position based on their minor league career.

FANTASY BASEBALL TRADES: Trades must be emailed to Admin@FSRU.com. In the Subject Line owner must state league name and team name. Commissioner notification of a trade must occur no later than 10pm EST each Thursday, or your transaction will be pushed to the following week (when possible commissioner will input trades after Thursday at 10pm EST). Trades will not be made retroactive and if you make an unbalanced trade and acquire an extra player, you must release a player to keep your roster at 27 players.

DOUBLE PLAY FANTASY BASEBALL FREE AGENTS: The weekly order of free agent pickups will be last place team to 1st place team as of Thursday morning. Free agent requests must be made by Thursday, 10pm EST. Each team will be given unlimited free agent pickups per week.

TO PICK UP FREE AGENTS: Go to your personal team page, click on FREE AGENT BIDDING. The site is then self-explanatory. Click on ADD OR CLAIM PLAYER TO RESERVES, choose your player drop and your first free agent, click SUBMIT CLAIM. Do the same thing over for your second choice, third, etc. Note that you must choose multiple players to drop if you wish multiple players issued.

DOUBLE PLAY FANTASY BASEBALL ROSTERS: Each week you will be able to activate players from your reserve squad and reserve players that are active. Reserving an injured player or activating a new free agent you just picked up could make a big difference on your team. Again we keep it simple at Fantasy Sports “R” Us. First, you click on FANTASY LEAGUES, go to your leagues personal website and then your personal team page. Your starting team page password is “fsru” and you can personalize it once you are in. You then use the MAKE TRANSACTIONS feature to set your starting lineup, which must be done prior to Sunday Night, 12am ET. Please note that each team is obligated to play their best lineup and the "strategy" of playing for a lower draft position in keeper leagues, for a better draft position the following year, is considered an illegal lineup.

WEBSITE and STATISTICS: Your leagues personal website has everything you could possibly want in a Fantasy Baseball Website. Your league standings are updated daily along with injury reports, what free agents are available in your league, updated rosters and transactions, and a trade evaluation software link; to see if you want to pull the trigger on that blockbuster. It provides the statistics year-to-date; or what the player has done while active for your team. This site even has Live Feed so you can see how your team, or any other team, players are doing right in the middle of the game. Each Monday, you'll receive an e-mailed update of the standings.

FANTASY BASEBALL LEAGUE FEES: Cost of a Double Play Fantasy Baseball Team is only $200. There are no transaction fees whatsoever at Fantasy Sports "R" Us.
