The Fantasy Sports Invitational Challenge
Where the best in the world come to settle things!

INTRODUCTION: The Fantasy Sports Invitational Challenge was founded to provide a top quality fantasy sports experience to the elite fantasy and rotisserie sports experts from around the world. FSRU.com will host straight (non-bid) online drafts utilizing the most advanced draft software in the industry on CBSsportsline.com. The online draft allows the FSIC the opportunity to extend beyond the limits of region and demographics. The benefit of this draft being it requires no member travel and allows the host to provide a complete service at no cost to member sites. By removing the participant members time and cost constraints, the FSIC attraction can truly pit the best against the best.

MEMBERS: The FSIC is made up of invited participants from fantasy, rotisserie and sports related sites. Only the most relevant individuals/sites will be afforded an invitation. Each year, the sites that come in 11th and 12th in the FSIC National League and the FSIC American League will relinquish their memberships in those individual leagues and two new sites will be afforded invitations to compete in the Fantasy Sports Invitational Challenge. In the interest of benefiting all participants, and in an effort to increase the name recognition and status of the FSIC, invited member sites must display the FSIC button (or the league banner) on the top 500 pixels of the site Home Page as a criterion to membership acceptance. Qualified site owners/writers can notify the FSIC of their interest at fsru1 @aol.com to be considered for an invitation.

DRAFTS: Member participants will be notified of draft order on the league website as soon as the league is filled yearly. The draft order reverses each round (1-12, 12-1) and you will have 120 seconds for each pick.

HONORARIUM: While the claim to greatness is many, the actual accomplishments that warrant that adjective are few. We at FSIC humble ourselves to the accomplishments of the fantasy sports players below as they, if only for a year, proved to be the best of the best.

BASEBALL TEAMS: The FSIC hosts American League only and National League only one-year baseball leagues. Each league has 12 teams. Each team will each have 27 players (22 active per week): 1-catcher; 1-1B; 1-Corner Infield (1B or3B); 1-3B; 1-2B; 1-Middle Infield (2B or SS); 1-SS; 5-OF; 1-Utility (any offensive player); 9-Pitchers; 5-Reserve (offense or pitching).

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY: Active and reserve players can be active major leaguers, minor leaguers or disabled players. Of course, a team will only begin to accumulate statistics from accomplishments on a major league roster.

MLB PLAYERS CHANGING LEAGUES: In an effort to limit factors outside the control of member participants and get the truest result of the participants abilities, after draft day, if a player is traded to 'the other league' the team owner can keep him and continue to accumulate his statistics for the remainder of the year. The current team owner can keep them on either their active or reserve roster. If released, these players are ineligible for free agent pickup.

HOW TO WIN BASEBALL: There are five hitting and five pitching categories (5 x 5). The five hitting categories are Batting Average (BA), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB) and Runs (R) scored. The five pitching categories are Wins (W), Saves (S), Earned Run Average (ERA), Ratio (Walks Hits / Innings Pitched) and Strikeouts (S). Pitchers will not accumulate hitting statistics. Points are awarded in each of the 10 categories based on your standings compared to the other teams in a respective league.

POSITION QUALIFICATION: A player must play at a position 10x the previous year or 5x the current year to qualify at a position. On draft day, a player's actual number of previous years MLB starts will be used for position qualification. If a player does not have 10 starts the previous year, the position he has accumulated the most starts the previous year will be used for position qualification. If the player has no MLB history, his expected position will be used for position qualification. This league requires 1000 minimum innings or your position will automatically be adjusted to last place in the end of year standings.

Trades must be done online utilizing the websites advanced software. Trades will not be made retroactive and if you make an unbalanced trade and acquire an extra player, you must release an extra player.

FANTASY BASEBALL FREE AGENTS: Each team will be given unlimited free agent pickups per week utilizing the sites advanced free agent software; The weekly order of free agent pickups will be last place team to 1st place team, last to first, last to first, etc., as of Friday. Note that you must choose multiple players to drop if you wish multiple players issued. Free agent requests must be on the site by Friday Morning, 12am EST. Free agents are issued automatically via auto-commissioner software.

MEMBER CODE OF ETHICS: All FSIC members are expected to deal with other members with honesty and integrity. While competition is an integral part of the fantasy sports experience, important also is each member participant's commitment to act in a fair an equitable manner. Members are expected to treat other members as they themselves would hope to be treated in the fair competition of the game. Member sites whose actions are deemed detrimental to the integrity the FSIC, such as in the case of collusion, or strategic vetoing of other teams trades (outlined below), will be asked to either replace site representative or relinquish their league membership.

TRADE VETO: Participating members have trade veto authority. Four vetoes and the trade does not get input and all participants receive notification of trade veto and which members vetoed the trade- both sites rosters will be adjusted to reflect current qualified players at each position. Obviously, the veto is an extremely powerful tool and takes the commissioner powers out of the hands of the host site. Thus, it must not be utilized as a strategic tool. The veto is only to be utilized if a participant finds the trade extremely one-sided or in some way unethical.

OFFICIAL TRADES: Trades are done utilizing the sites advanced trade software. It is each members responsibility to know the health status of the player he is trading for.

PRIZES: FSRU awards the FSIC Championship Trophy to the League Winner and 2nd Place finisher. You are playing for the recognition of the membership as well as the built in free advertising awarded the member sites. FSRU.com will provide the FSIC a CBSsports.com website and complete free agent and trade notification services to all member sites. FSRU.com will provide the FSIC Championship Trophies. There will be no league fees or costs to the invited member sites.

ROSTERS: Team owners must change rosters via the Transactions button on their personal team page on the leagues website. Active players must be played over disabled players if you have an active player on reserve. Disabled (or minor league) pitchers must be replaced if active.

WEBSITE and STATISTICS: Simply put, a CBS website has everything a team owner could possibly want in a fantasy baseball website. Your league standings are updated daily along with injury reports, what free agents are available in your league, updated rosters and transactions; even Live Feed.

RECOGNITION: The FSIC honors the Leagues of Alternate Baseball Reality (LABR) as the first ever fantasy baseball league of experts and for their historical role in furthering the hobbies participation. For their role in educating the masses on the enjoyment of fantasy sports, we also show our respect to the prestigious participants of Tout Wars.
